Finding Your Perfect Roof Shingle Color

Your roof is one of the largest surfaces on your home. The right shingle color lifts your curb appeal, works with your brick and siding, and can even affect how warm your attic gets. Here is how to choose, plus every color we offer.

Types of shingles

Not all shingles are equal. Here is the quick version of what goes on your roof.

Three-Tab

Flat, single-layer shingles with a uniform, repeating pattern. They are the old budget standard. Thinner, flatter, and shorter on lifespan.

Architectural

Multi-layer, dimensional shingles with depth and shadow lines that mimic wood shake. They last longer, handle wind better, and look far richer. This is what we install.

Our standard

Designer & Luxury

Premium shingles that imitate natural slate or hand-split cedar shake for a high-end, custom look. Ask us if you want to step up to a designer line.

We automatically upgrade three-tab to architectural

No basic three-tab roofs here. Every roof we install comes with thicker, tougher, better looking architectural shingles as our standard, so you get a stronger and longer lasting roof by default.

How to pick the right color

Match your brick and siding

Pull the undertones from what is already on your home. Warm brick loves brown and tan blends. Cool gray siding pairs with slate and charcoal.

Think about heat

Darker roofs absorb more heat, lighter roofs stay cooler. In Georgia sun this can matter for your attic and energy bills.

See it on a real roof

A tiny swatch looks different than a full roof in daylight. We will show you finished homes in your area with the colors you are considering.

Check your HOA

Some neighborhoods limit roof colors. We help you confirm what is approved before you order.
